Choosing the Right Material

Choosing the Right Material

Start with the material’s qualities, then consider the design, finish, and conditions around it. Material choice is independent of intended use: a product name or theme does not by itself make a material appropriate for a specialized environment.

A simple decision path

  1. Choose the look. PLA Matte and PETG Matte offer a quieter surface; PLA Wood gives a wood-inspired appearance; Basic options make layer character and color more visible.
  2. Choose the physical priority. PLA is often selected for dependable display work; PETG can be useful when additional toughness or flexibility is important.
  3. Check the conditions. Think about heat, impact, moisture, chemicals, UV exposure, cleaning method, and frequent handling.
  4. Ask before ordering when conditions are specialized. Aquariums, terrariums, animal enclosures, food contact, outdoor use, and heated locations need a case-by-case decision.

Available options

Product catalog options remain PLA and PETG families with curated color selections—typically four to six colors per material, depending on availability. Size options are offered where applicable. A color or finish choice does not change the underlying limits of the material.

What we can and cannot promise

We can describe print behavior, appearance, and practical handling considerations. We cannot turn a material/design test into a claim of habitat safety or universal suitability. Review Special Environments & Considerations before using a piece in a specialized setup.
