Special Environments & Considerations
Some placements involve conditions that ordinary product photography and print checks cannot fully evaluate. Use this page as a question list, not as a safety certification.
Aquariums and water systems
Consider immersion time, water chemistry, temperature, coatings, pigments, adhesives, trapped air, cleaning, and whether any part can break loose. We do not claim that an untested printed piece is aquarium-safe.
Terrariums and animal enclosures
Consider species, humidity, temperature, behavior, chewing or scratching, cleaning routine, access to small parts, and the consequences of breakage. A design’s theme or intended use does not establish animal or habitat safety.
Animals
Consult a veterinarian, zoologist, habitat specialist, or other appropriately qualified professional when a piece will be accessible to an animal. Do not rely on a general material label as a substitute for species-specific guidance.
Outdoor exposure
Sun, UV, rain, freeze-thaw cycles, wind, heat, dirt, and impact can change appearance and performance. PLA and PETG variants differ, but neither should be assumed universally outdoor-rated without evaluating the location and duration.
Our boundary
Poieo can explain the printed object, material family, appearance, and known design considerations. Material/design print validation is not habitat-safety validation, long-term immersion testing, toxicity testing, or certification for a specialized environment. When in doubt, pause and ask a qualified specialist before placing the piece.
